Giveaway Goodies & Must Go's: Palmer's and Eubos Promotion at 1 Utama!

Came back from 1 Utama just before closing time and right after dinner I was doing some window shopping, and shopping shopping, since it's the Mega Sale now. Spotted an Eubos and Palmer's Roadshow stall by Caring Pharmacy right in from of the Kiehl's outlet. Obviously, I decided to close in on it since 1) I love Eubos!! And 2) I saw a see-through box with bottles inside (usually means some sort of recycling activity - which I love and hope more brands would encourage!)

So off I went and as I approached the stall, a promoter came to me and handed me an Eubos sample. Yay for samples! It came with a form which he then told me was for the recycling program. See they have this recycling program which ends like....today (June 26) where you drop ANY empty bottle/tube of skin care/body care product into the afore mentioned see-through box and you get a RM 5 voucher to be used on the spot! AND they were having some great promotions! And there are tester bottles for all the products so you can test before you buy! LOVE!! The products are already reflecting promotional prices and you get even more GWP along with it! Buy RM 60, RM 120, RM 300 and get some great goodies!

I stocked up on some Eubos products, which I love and will review of course!

So don't wait for anything, get to 1 Utama fellow PJ/KLites and grab some great bargains! Don't say I didn't tell you so!

To recap:

The event: Eubos/Palmer's Roadshow
The place: In front of Kiehl's outlet
The time: June 26 = last day!!
The deal: Samples, testers, and promotions galore!

Must Go's: Kiehl's Party Update - I Got An Invite!!

Friday, the 15th of January 2010, a day that will live with me forever. That was the day of the longest annular solar eclipse of the millennium and will remain the longest until the 23rd of December, 3043! And where was I? At Miu’s Superhero (Berry) Birthday Party of course! The party’s actual name has been misused so many times even I have forgotten what it was originally called. Anyway, I got an invite! Woo hoo…

Guest Book Superhero-Style

Lovely Chandelier

WARNING: PIC & WORD HEAVY POST AHEAD!!!!

So it was the Superhero party of the century hosted by Kiehl’s! Everyone (ok, almost everyone) came dressed up as their favourite Superhero. Those sighted were SuperMiu, SuperMom, Catwoman, Elizabeth Swann, and Fly Devil (don’t worry, I’ve never heard of Fly Devil either!) But what did I dress up as? Well, ME of course! Haha…I supported in a red ensemble (let’s just put it that way shall we).

Group Pic!

Spidey Alert!

The activities of the day were held right outside the Kiehl’s store in 1 Utama. Thankfully they occupy a corner lot. There were Q and A games, a mini “treasure hunt” encompassing the store window, a Best Dressed award giveaway, a 2 minute intro to their new Acai Berry range plus a self demo, face-painting, eating, drinking, and mingling!

2-minute Acai Berry Intro

Oh, and CAMWHORING of course! Boy, were there a lot of cameras in the house that day! We could have opened a camera shop right there and then!

Behold, the elusive Fly Devil Spotted!!

Did I mention there was Camwhoring??

And as it was a Super Kiehl’s parties, good food was aplenty! I wasn’t even expecting to see food at that hour!

Food!!!

Mini Pretzels and Onion Dip

Dessert

Cake! For Miu and I! How generous are they!

Now now, we will get on to the prizes and promotions. First up was the Q and A session based on the 2 minute intro. Nadia Yap, PR Manager, acted as the questioner and was almost bombarded with the then pre-scrapped “ring-the-bell-before-answering” procedure.

It's Elementary My Dear Superheroes!

Then came the mini treasure hunt and after that the Best Dressed giveaway! It was no big surprise who won. Or was it? We all thought SuperMiu would win! Check out the costume, that pose, the Miu-ness!!

Look at them Prizes!!

SuperMiu Pose!

But, since the party was held for her, she was sadly cut out. SuperMom ended up winning the grand prize! Followed by Supernerd, and some Consolation prizes going to Catwoman and Elizabeth Swann.

SuperMom to the Rescue!

Supernerd! Nerd No More!

Catwoman! Meowrr....

Captain Jack? Or Elizabeth Swann?
You decide!

No one went back empty handed! Goodie bags were given out, the recycling bin filling up, and purchases made.

More Special Promotions!!

I went back with an extra pressie! Oh, did I forget to mention, it was also MY BIRTHDAY that day! So what did I take home? A special goodie bag courtesy of the generous Kiehl’s 1 Utama and a Kiehl’s pressie boxful of Kiehl’s (yes I do love the brand!) goodies from Miu! Yay me! More stuff to review now. Everyone should stop feeding my addiction. NOT!

This was the most memorable birthday I have ever had and will remember forever. A BIG THANK YOU to Kiehl’s for hosting yet another SUPERb party and to Miu of course for inviting me as well as the amazing pressie!

*Will post my pressies from the Kiehl's Party in another post. This one is way too long!

Face It: Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream, How Does It Stack Up?

Yesterday I talked about the Ultra Facial Moisturizer, today, it is one of Kiehl’s bestsellers, the Ultra Facial Cream’s turn! This one has quite a reputation. It was tested in Greenland by a special team of hiker who reported great results upon usage of this product. And knowing Greenland, this product still managed to perform under harsh conditions. If it worked for the hikers, think what this product can do for us living in hot little Malaysia.

Texture-wise, I find this one more lightweight than the Moisturizer. It ha the same fluffy white colouring found in the whole Ultra Facial range. Scentless yet again which is a thumbs up! I was given some advice by a KCR to use this very sparingly. Just a smidgen will do the trick. As you don’t need to use a lot of the product at one go, this tub is actually going to last you a very long time! Great for value-conscious consumers like myself.

Again, my dry cheeks soaked this baby right up! And surprise surprise, my T-zone quite likes this one too! I feel this Cream is much more suitable for me. I wake up to a very light sheen on my T-zone which is very good news to me. I believe this one is probably the closest I am getting to HG for now. Ain’t that grand!

Loves: no scent, very light texture, moisturizing for all skin types
Gripes: NONE!!

The Ultra Facial Cream comes in tub form of 50ml retailing at RM 100.

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this review financially or otherwise. Everything mentioned are my own thoughts based on my experience.

Face It: Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer, Ultra Good?

I am terribly late with the supposedly-daily Kiehl’s product review. I was in a jolly good mood, having just watched a detective with a keen eye and his dashingly handsome sidekick.

Today’s review will be about Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer. This product is one of three moisturizers in the Ultra Facial range targeted at all skin types. It is said to be easily absorbed and thus leaves skin soft and moisturized.

The lovely egg white colouring of the moisturizer is quite common place yet I expect better results from this one compared to other brands. The product doesn’t have a very distinct scent which is good for a facial product most people depend on to keep skin plump and glowing. The inclusion of several moisturizing oil piqued my interest even more! The product doesn’t have a very distinct scent which is good for a facial product most people depend on to keep skin plump and glowing. Plus, I found the texture quite light which is good enough for me. At my age of 20 plus, I don’t really need a very rich moisturizer just yet.

My dry cheeks found this product really moisturizing which made me happy. The skin on my neck and décolletage felt just the same which is great as I have had reactions from other brands before on my neck. Unfortunately, I found the Ultra Facial Moisturizer a tad oily on my combination skin T-zone. It would have been the perfect moisturizer for my moisturizer-obsessed self but for this fact. And now I will have to look again for that ever evasive HG moisturizer.

Loves: no scent, light texture, moisturizing for dry skins

Gripes: slightly oily on oily skins

The Ultra Facial Moisturizer comes in 2 forms, one with SPF and one without. I tried the one without SPF. The Ultra Facial Moisturizer retails at RM 70 for 75ml and RM 100 for 125ml while the Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 retails at RM 75 for 75ml and RM 115 for 125ml at all Kiehl’s outlets nationwide.

If you’re interested in the product, drop by for a sample and try it for yourself! Let me know if you have a different experience from mine.

The other moisturizer in the Ultra Facial range is coming up in the next review! Read about it and see how these 2 products compare.

* I was recently advised by a KCR to apply an even thinner layer of the moisturizer on my forehead instead of the slightly heavier hand I use on my cheeks. If there is a change in the T-zone situation, do expect an update!

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this review financially or otherwise. Everything mentioned are my own thoughts based on my experience.

Face It: Is Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1, Rave or Rant?

Now, in honour of the Kiehl’s Berry Birthday Party coming up, I have decided to review (or try to) 1 Kiehl’s product everyday.

First up is their Lip Balm #1! I have an equal amount of read raves and rants about this product. But as everyone knows, they don’t matter unless the product actually works on you! If they call it Lip Balm #1 there MUST be something good about it right? So, did it work for me? Let’s find out!

Here’s my story. A few months ago, on a Singaporean trip, the weather was bad. Really bad. It was scorching and blazing every single day. To cut it short, my lips ended up chapped, cracked, bruised, and painful! It was torture as I am quite sensitive to the heat of the sun. the worst part was that I smeared goops of my then favourite lip product, Vaseline, all over my lips. Just so you know it was an SPF 15 product and yet I got burnt! This sensation continued even after I returned home from my trip and with copious amount of yet again, Vaseline. But it wouldn’t budge!

Then a lightbulb went on in my head. What better time to try out the much touted Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1!? So off I went to the store and smeared some on while browsing through their many products. Just a few hours later I realized, the painful, cracked lips of mine had vanished! As if into thin air believe it or not. I ended up buying some of course. Nowadays I use Vaseline for my normal condition (I sill have to finish it up right) and Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 when my lips aren’t doing so well. How I wish I was introduced to it sooner! Think of the pain I could have avoided. I think the SPF 4 would have helped lots.

It has a nice texture too. Quite firm coming out of the tube, unlike the goopy Vaseline you get on hot days. This one has no scent so for those who dislike scented products, this is for you! The lip balm also comes in several seasonal flavours during the Christmas season but so far have not been very impressed by them. I found them too light in scent. It is also non-greasy which makes me like it so much more! I already bought a back-up! This baby is going in my carry-all every time I go on a trip. I am not going to risk getting sick lips again!

Loves: very moisturizing, no scent, firm texture, non-greasy, comes with SPF 4
Gripes: NONE!!

So far, I must say that this is my LE lip balm. Not even Chapstick has worked this good!

Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 comes in tube-form of 15ml as well as a small tub, of which I am not sure of the size. This baby retails at RM 29 at all Kiehl’s outlets throughout Malaysia.

Have you ever tried this product? How did it work out for you?

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this review financially or otherwise. Everything mentioned are my own thoughts based on my experience.

Freebies A-Hauling: Freebies & an H2O promo!

I know I haven't posted in a very long time. Real busy with school and all the work that comes with it. A family member has also been sick lately thus not having much time to do any posts although I have so many in mind.

Had a day off today and of course went to get some freebies and samples. Happiness.

First off, went to Jusco in 1 Utama to get Clarins and Clinique freebies. Then off to Guardian for Vichy! Before going to Kiehl's to get some of the new Sunflower range samples.

Did you notice the Clarins? Looks nice huh. I got it from this month's issue of MYC! Magazine! You probably don't know about it unless you're in college. Or frequent various McDonald's outlets. Well they had a page on the Truly Matte range with a 3-piece giveaway! And I got mine!

Included are a 3ml Pore Minimizing Serum, 5ml Hydra Matte Lotion, and 5ml Pure and Radiant Mask! Happy happy happy. Very pleased with Clarins and am truly awaiting the Workshop with the greatest of anticipation. 31st please come faster! 9 outlets are listed for the redemption. It's until the 15th of November so if you can get your hands on this magazine, do so now!

Clinique is having that Eye Cream giveaway. If you don't know about it, go to their Malaysian website. http://www.cliniquemalaysia.com/oct/redeem.html and fill up the form to get your M-coupon! It expires this Sunday so hurry! Unfortunately, the Jusco 1 Utama outlet was already out of stock since last week. So instead, I got a Derma White Moisture Mask in exchange. SA Sally was nice enough to do so. But do try the other outlets. Hope you have more luck than I did. I so want to try their All About Eyes.

On to Vichy. Got it from that mini coupon from MWW magazine. CLEO has it to so get yours now! Until the end of the month. Sachets are from the new Bi-White range, the Essence and Cream.

As I got my Kiehl's newsletter today, I found out for sure that their new Sunflower Color Preserving range is out! Got samples of their raved about Hair Recovery Pak. Look for KCR Yen or Anna. They are lovely. Also got a Creme de Corps sample to try. Tried on a little Pear Tree Corner (PTC) Body Lotion and boy, it smells so divine. Now you know why I have the whole range on my wishlist! Even though I already have their Scrub!

On the way to Kiehl's, I also saw my favourite food shop. Shojikiya!! They are on sale again! Until this Sunday also. RIGHT ouside the Kiehl's outlet. Had to stop by. This is the second one I have been to this year. And I want more!! My haul. I bought my favourite Nissin Instant Noodles but thought it wasn't so appropriate to show you that. Most people know about it anyway. Those are a RM 1 off the normal price. Going at RM 6.50 now!

Hello Panda is for my friend. Although it is rather nice. They have lots of testers for all sorts of food items. Usual price is RM 15+, going at RM 13 right now. Recently have been having an Azuki bean craving. Yes, Japanese red bean craving. I love those littl;e pleasure beans. This is my new favourite snack, All Azuki it is apparently called. Normal price is RM 8+, now it's at RM 6.90. About RM 2 cheaper! I snapped up 3 packs! Subtle yet delightful taste! Especially for those who hate overly sweet stuff. This is definitely for you! Comes in Raisin flavour also but if you can get Azuki, why bother with Raisin I say. Also got a pancake-like snack. Yet another Azuki frenzy treat for me. This one comes with chestnuts too! Got it for RM 16. Those Japanese really do love their chestnuts and Azuki. Also comes in just Azuki. Bought it for a relative recently who said it was really nice thus bought this for myself. Mine! All mine!!

Oh yeah, with purchases of RM 30 and above you get a Pasta Zanmai voucher for a free Matcha Ice Cream! Only in 1 Utama outlet though. I have never been there before.

Saw this ad in the Thursday Star paper. 20% off on H2O Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment 50ml!? Go get it girls! I heard it is really good! Either that or stock up if you already have this. Like the ad says, "Grab the opportunity that may not happen for another 20 years". That is a looong time. Until the end of the month.

Go crazy everyone! See you soon!

Must Go's: Kiehl’s Party: What An Event!

This is a very late post. One I probably should have written long ago. For that I am TRULY sorry. But that said, it is still better late than never! So I was amongst the lucky guests invited to attend the Kiehl’s Party hosted by Von Von on the 8th of August. It was held at the flagship store in Pavilion KL. At first I was shocked as they were actually having it within the Kiehl’s store premises. A shocker as there would be normal customers walking in and out as well as the other guests. I knew it was to get crowded.

The party started off with Nadia, PR of Kiehl’s, introducing herself and then having the hostess do so as well. Then all the guests were “invited” to introduce themselves as an ice-breaker.

Then came the video presentation on Kiehl’s, with Nadia providing extra details.

After that came Play & Mingle Time. Some people drifted off to the yummy table of food, ordered from blogger FatBoyBakes and cooler of drinks in between. The food was delish, the company wonderful.

We got to play with anything and everything in the store, including the kiddie section! But that’s another story.

We were also introduced to their Ultra Facial range, with Ice Man included! Very exciting.

Ice Man looked so cute with his frosty icicles, seen here with Miu and Von Von respectively. I went round and round the store playing and testing, sniffing and reading everything. I think their videocam had a lot of fun tracking the same person going on a bit of a Merry-Go-Round that day.

And of course, there were the goodie bags. A whole table full of them! Those cute baggies surprised everyone who opened them. 2 deluxe-sized samples consisting of 1 Ultra Face Cream or Moisturizer and 1 Formula 133 Hair Conditioner and Grooming Aid, not including the samples provided to all guests after consulting with the Kiehl’s Customer Representatives (KCRs)!

Kiehl’s also offered all guests a further RM 10 off every RM 100 purchase that day. Boy, I don’t think anyone left empty handed! Not counting the goodie bags of course. I sure didn’t! So what did I get for my first (but NOT last) haul??

The Gently Exfoliating Body Scrub in 'Pear Tree Corner' (must try!!), Lip Balm #1 (review coming up soon!), and the much raved about Dermatologist Solutions Ultimate White Surface Brightening Exfoliator (reviewed!)!!

The group photo (what was left of the invited guests anyway), everyone was so busy playing and mingling we totally forgot to take it earlier.

Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better Party! The food great, the atmosphere buzzing with excitement, the KCRs extremely helpful and generous, and the hauling…slighty greedy. Now I know what to put on my wishlist!! So a BIG THANK YOU to Von Von for hosting, to Kiehl’s for allowing us the pleasure of messing up your store (I know we did!), to Nadia (PR) and Yvonne (Retail Manager) and the rest of the KCRs for having us and being so helpful and knowledgeable. I can only hope this won’t be the last of it. You’ll be seeing me around Kiehl’s pretty soon I presume!

* Some piccies come courtesy of the lovelies, Von Von and Miu. Sorry I had to steal some piccies!
