Giveaway Goodies: Fall Book Exchange 2.0

Fall Book Exchange 2.0 is a lovely new incentive to share some book love hosted by the gals at Ruby’s Reads Book Exchanges and Letters Inside Out. I just signed up for this and I am excited! I know everyone has their fave books and your wishlists are super long. But so are others' and the great thing is that you get paired up with someone else and get to select their book for them. So in a way, you are their not-so-Secret-Santa.

WAIT, don't get too excited now. I know everyone loves getting presents but there are (of course) some rules to follow so that everyone plays fair!

Here are the rules:

  1. You do not have to be a book blogger to participate. Everyone's welcome!
  2. International participants are welcome, too, anywhere that the Book Depository ships. Please be aware, when you sign up, that you may be assigned an international santee.
  3. You will need a wishlist in order to participate. Where you keep your wishlist--on Goodreads, Amazon, or your blog--is up to you and you will be able to link to two wishlists in the form. If you need help setting up a wishlist, email me and we'll help you figure it out. Amanda may be a technical genius, but Ruby is definitely not.
  4. PLEASE NOTE: Fall Santas (FSs--) will chose TWO books from your wishlist for a total of around $18-20. If you want one book for that price, it's up to you--let your FS know. Also remember that the Book Depository has free shipping. You should not be spending half of your $18-$20 on shipping. This was an issue during the last exchange, and some people felt they didn't get a fair exchange.
  5. Pre-ordered items are acceptable ONLY if this is agreed upon by both parties.
  6. You may purchase your books from whatever source you choose, but please do not send used books. Ebooks must be okayed with the santee before purchasing.
  7. Once santas and santees are assigned, addresses will be exchanged between individuals. If you're not comfortable with this, please do not sign up.
  8. Sign ups begin on September 22, and end on October 22. This is a bit different from the usual, since the Summer Book Exchange 2.0 began late this year.
  9. After you send the books to your santee, you must fill out the tracking information form I will provide for you.
  10. To join the exchange, you must fill out THIS form. It is also included at the end of this post.

NOW, I'm going to assume you all paid (some) attention, so if you'd like to sign-up (please do, this is gonna be FUN!) or if you need further information, just click the HERE word.

And there you go! Get ready to have lovely pressies dropped down your chimney! Or in front of your door. Or postbox. Or P.O. Box....you get the picture. What are you waiting for folks!

Random Thoughts: RAK September 2012 Wrap Up & October RAK Sign-Up

Book Soulmates

RAK seems to be the only thing I post on quite regularly. I guess I really like sharing books with other. I sent one 1 birthday RAK in September!

I sent out:

to Aanchal @ Book Flame from the USA

AND she sent me a book too! *squeal* She is sending me:

Thank you SO MUCH Aanchal! I am so excited for this book!!

I hope anyone reading this will try and participate in RAK. It's a great way to share your love of books! You can even send over your pre-loved books if you want! Or even handmade goodies!

All this is possible with the gracious help of the gals over at Book Soulmates. So please thank them for hosting this great monthly event too!

But before you get too excited, here's what you need to know!

COMPLETE RAK RULES RE-CAP:
Please read carefully &  follow all rules!  Thank you!

  • Please sign-up each month that you can participate (and by participate, we mean give as well as receive).
  • Show off your participation by grabbing our RAK button (code is in the right sidebar).
  • Create a wish list (on Amazon, Goodreads, or your blog, etc) and post it in the Google Doc located in each R.A.K post for the month.
  • If you choose to do a R.A.K for someone, check out their wish list and contact that blogger directly for their information.
  • Once you receive a RAK, send an email to [rakbybooksoulmates @ gmail . com] so that they can update the Google Doc. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU SEND EMAILS TO THIS ADDRESS!
  • E-book participation is limited to files being gifted directly to a person from the e-book store. Amazon's Kindle Store is set up to allow this, as well as the Kobo store and we believe Barnes & Noble with Nook as well.
