I am terribly late with the supposedly-daily Kiehl’s product review. I was in a jolly good mood, having just watched a detective with a keen eye and his dashingly handsome sidekick.
Today’s review will be about Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer. This product is one of three moisturizers in the Ultra Facial range targeted at all skin types. It is said to be easily absorbed and thus leaves skin soft and moisturized.
The lovely egg white colouring of the moisturizer is quite common place yet I expect better results from this one compared to other brands. The product doesn’t have a very distinct scent which is good for a facial product most people depend on to keep skin plump and glowing. The inclusion of several moisturizing oil piqued my interest even more! The product doesn’t have a very distinct scent which is good for a facial product most people depend on to keep skin plump and glowing. Plus, I found the texture quite light which is good enough for me. At my age of 20 plus, I don’t really need a very rich moisturizer just yet.
My dry cheeks found this product really moisturizing which made me happy. The skin on my neck and décolletage felt just the same which is great as I have had reactions from other brands before on my neck. Unfortunately, I found the Ultra Facial Moisturizer a tad oily on my combination skin T-zone. It would have been the perfect moisturizer for my moisturizer-obsessed self but for this fact. And now I will have to look again for that ever evasive HG moisturizer.
Loves: no scent, light texture, moisturizing for dry skins
Gripes: slightly oily on oily skins
The Ultra Facial Moisturizer comes in 2 forms, one with SPF and one without. I tried the one without SPF. The Ultra Facial Moisturizer retails at RM 70 for 75ml and RM 100 for 125ml while the Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 retails at RM 75 for 75ml and RM 115 for 125ml at all Kiehl’s outlets nationwide.
If you’re interested in the product, drop by for a sample and try it for yourself! Let me know if you have a different experience from mine.
The other moisturizer in the Ultra Facial range is coming up in the next review! Read about it and see how these 2 products compare.
* I was recently advised by a KCR to apply an even thinner layer of the moisturizer on my forehead instead of the slightly heavier hand I use on my cheeks. If there is a change in the T-zone situation, do expect an update!
Disclosure: I was not compensated for this review financially or otherwise. Everything mentioned are my own thoughts based on my experience.
I feel the same when I try this product.
ReplyDeleteA bit oily on t-zone. But I think the KCR is right, we should just apply thin layer on those oily area.
Hey Jean,
ReplyDeleteOh you did? Good to know I am not the only one. We should take their advice. And also try the Ultra Facial Cream! That one is more lightweight.
yah... i think that's what i read a lot on many of the beauty blogs as well. don't spread too heavily on the T-zone.
ReplyDeleteHey CY,
ReplyDeleteYeap! Never use a heavy hand on the T-zone! I think, no matter how "light" the product! It has enough oils on its own. No need to OD it.
cool blog! love it!
ReplyDeleteI think there is another one that comes from smaller jar. That is why my sis-in-law is using. ~ acne doctors
ReplyDeleteHi Pearly Craig,
ReplyDeleteThe cream is available in 50ml I believe. That's probably the one you're talking about. I love that one too.
Thanks for the comment!
